Off the back of the 26th Salone Del Mobile Milano, Ultimo Interiors have welcomed their second French collection, Petite Friture, to their stable of over 47 international brands, securing exclusive Australian rights to the design house.

Created in 2009, Petite Friture is a young design house born with the will to promote young talents and to develop with them a catalogue of objects, lighting and small furniture that ‘create a vibration’. The result is elegant and accessible objects that in a simple and uninhibited manner tell a story; objects that understand our daily life and invite us to savour it.

“The playful and almost provocative design of Petite Friture provide exactly the right balance between tension as they create new interior landscapes”, said Ultimo Interiors Creative Director, Andrew Thornton Hick.

The pool of young, talented designers for Petite Friture, in whom the creative force is like a breath of fresh air, bring a new energy to design. Mr Hick is particularly excited to be bringing Constance Guissett’s Petite Friture designs to the Ultimo Interiors showroom:

Constance Guisset is one of the rising stars of French design. Her Vertigo pendant has skyrocketed to design icon status having been picked up by Kelly Hoppen for her suite designs for cruise line ‘Celebrity’ and in film sets for the recent ‘Me Before You’ film staring Game of Thrones actor Emilia Clarke. Sma

After meeting Constance in Milan two years ago at the fair I’ve been watching her work gain in depth and palette. Seeing an array of her Vertigo lights on the Rolf Benz stand this year sealed the deal and we will soon have a modern jungle-scape at Ultimo featuring both brands. Not unlike Gucci, Rolf Benz sought innovative youthful expressions in design to contrast their considered and thoughtful engineering”.

The Ultimo showroom will soon feature the Petite Friture ‘Iso’ outdoor table, ‘Mask’ mirrors, ‘Vertigo’ pendants, ‘Cherry’ Pendants and ‘Tidelight’ table lamp, among many other products from the French design house.
