ULTIMO SECURES EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS TO WITTMANN IN AUSTRALIA

Off the back of the 26th Salone Del Mobile Milano, Ultimo Interiors have secured the exclusive Australian distribution for renowned Austrian upholsterer Wittmann.

Wittmann has a tradition of craftsmanship dating back to 1896. Precision, quality and exquisite craft skills have shaped the philosophy of the company since its origins as a saddler and leather workshop. Sustainability, in the form of long-lasting products, is a central concern. A passionate sense of obligation to a tradition of good design has led to a commitment to classic models that stand out for their uncluttered lines and timeless elegance.

After attending his 17th year at the fair, Ultimo Interiors Creative Director Andrew Thornton Hick says it is a milestone for the company to bring such an iconic brand back to Australia.

The Ultimo showroom will soon feature the ‘Wittmann Hayon Workshop’, a collaboration between Wittmann and prominent Spanish designer Jaime Hayon. This latest collection from Wittmann is eclectic yet timeless, combining craftsmanship with quality, and character with outstanding comfort.

Since 1896, when the family-owned business was founded as a saddlery, quality consciousness, craftsmanship and innovation have been central to the Wittmann culture. Today, Wittmann works with world-famous designers to bring each genuine Wittmann design to life as a truly unique item of furniture.

Over the years, great designers have created for Wittmann including Paolo Piva, Hannes Wettstein, Matteo Thun and Jean Nouvel. Many milestones of furniture history enrich the collection, skilfully produced by hand with timeless design, all the while providing the highest level of comfort. Since 2002, Wittmann have edited the ground breaking designs of Friedrich Kiesler. Some of which are in our own AGWA collection.

In recent years focus has been placed on the next generation of Austrian designers: Soda Designers, Polka and Marco Dessì have been responsible for many of the successful models in the current collection.
